I peer down through the mess of branches and leaves, down at the two Careers prowling below me. They're muttering curses as they kick up the leaves down below. They just missed me. And they know I'm still here. ONe looks up and I can feel my heart pounding, faster and faster, as I gaze at the boy, his eyes carefully searching. But he doesn't see me and inwardly, I'm sighing with relief - I daren't make a noise just yet. The girl shakes her head and gestures to the boy. "Let's go, she'll have to come back some time," she says, and he nods.
They leave, and I sit there, shaking. That was close.
